11:02pm- We were now dilated 8-9cm and fully effaced, so we knew we would be having a baby within the next few hours...the doctors said that we were moving along faster than normal, so Jacob could come anytime...almost time for pushing!
12:15am- We were fully dilated and ready to push, but my epidural had worn off...I was in a lot of pain, and contractions were coming every 30secs to a minute, and were verrrrrry strong and painful! The nurse wanted me to push, but I wasn't having it...I got an epidural for a reason...and I knew I would push much more effectively if I had good pain control. Unfortunately, the anesthesiologist was in a C-section, so I had to wait it out until he was available to redose my epidural....a loooooong time to wait when in that much pain, but Dave helped me through it and it was well worth it!
1:05am-Dr. Pool had arrived for the delivery and I finally got a second dose on my epidural....we pushed for 35mins, and then at 1:40am the most joyous moment of me and Daddy's lives occurred...JACOB RYAN PICARELLI WAS BORN! Apgars were 9 and 9, and he was the perfect little boy, weighing in at 7.28lbs and 20 inches long.... such a small and perfect little angel....who DOES have his Daddy's eyes....
8/28/08- Proud new Poppa and little Baby Jacob...less than 12 hours old
8/29/08- Baby Jacob one day old, and ready to go home from the hospital...here with Daddy
8/29/08- Mommy and Jacob, about to leave the hospital....no mommy in the world was more proud!
9/29/08- Baby Jacob finally settled in at home, less than 48 hours old....already loving the vibrations of his bouncy seat!
