Jacob's 50th Week

Poor baby Jacob! He fell and hit his face on the corner of his toy basket, leaving him with his first "shiner." He took it like a champ, and after a few short bursts of tears, was right back to playing. Jacob still refuses to crawl, but continues to practice walking while holding onto someone, and has started to inch his way around the ottoman ("cruising"). He is still pretty unsteady, so he needs lots of spotting from mom and dad... Jacob fed himself with a fork for the first time this week, and even tries to scoop food onto the fork (he needs help with this one, but tries to do it all on his own).

8/16/09- My first "shiner"

I took it like a man!

No, seriously, I'm ok!

8/22/09- Feeding myself green stuff with a spoon...

Me eating ravioli off of my fork...

This is better than that green stuff....

Jacob's 49th Week

Jacob ate a WHOLE banana in one sitting! He is communicating so much more, pointing at things he wants and vocalizing. He got his first pair of crock shoes from Grandma B, and went to the Zoo again where he pet a goat and a sheep (not too sure he was such a big fan of that.... must take after Daddy with the whole dirt and germ thing!). He continues to cruise around the house on his tricycle, and knows how to steer and back up when he comes across a barrier.... he is so smart!
8/11/09- Me and mommy

Ta-Da!

Uh, Ok mom...that's enough picture taking for one afternoon!

Mmmmm....Cheese Puffs!

8/11/09- My first pair of Crocks!

They fit perfectly!

Thanks Grandma B!

8/12/09- Me and my tricycle...

Are you watching Mom?

Jacob's 48th Week

Jacob has gotten so good at steering his tricycle, he no longer bumps into wall when he is on it...he flies around the house, mobile at last! He imitates sounds in an attempt to have a conversation, and loves to talk. He has even started to engage in some imaginary play, "stirring" imaginary food in a bowel like he sees mommy do when cooking. Jacob got his first cell phone this week (mommy's old one) and loves to push the buttons on it and flip it open and closed. He also loves to throw his food on the floor when he is all finished... oh what a fun game to play!

8/3/09-Welcome to Jacob's Culinary School...first we will start off by stirring slowly....

Hey you in the back row...are you paying attention ?!?!

Next we turn it over and tap it out of the pan....

And for the final test....the taste test! Delicious!

8/3/09- Hmmm...I think Jacob is done with his grilled Cheese...

Yep...there are the remains on the floor....

What? I'm innocent!

8/5/09- Me and my cool new cell phone...

Are the chicks gonna dig this or what!

Jacob turns 11 months old!

Jacob turned 11 months old this week... I can't believe he is only one month away from being a full year old! Oh how the time has flown by...before long he will be graduating high school! We cherish each moment we have with him... This week I took Jacob to the Columbus Zoo for the very first time...we met up with Pal Isabella there, and had a good time. Jacob seemed to notice some of the animals I pointed out to him, but he liked the aquarium most of all... he just stood by the glass and tried to catch the big fish as they swam by! He tried ice cream for the first time there, graters raspberry chip, and as evidenced by the pictures, he loved every bite of it! We also went on our first carnival ride there, of course the elephant ride (mommy picked the ride, can you tell?), which he seemed to enjoy. We can't wait to go back again!

7/24/09- At the Zoo...mmmmm ice cream!

The sign says it all..."Dad's the Boss!"

Looking at the Gorillas...

Pal Isabella on the carousel ride with her mommy Ann...

I slept through the carousel ride...me and mr. monkey

Isabella on the wart hog...

Me and Mommy on the Elephant Ride

Weeeee!

But Mommy, I don't want to leave yet!

Jacob's 46th Week

Jacob is getting better cruising around in his walker at Grandma B and Pop's house, and still likes to walk around holding onto our fingers. He has been very picky about what he eats this week, and still prefers to eat what the adults are eating over his baby food. He loves the Gerber graduates cheese puffs...he is going to turn orange from eating so many! He is really into playing with balls, and is able to throw and roll them. He started to scoot around in a circle while sitting down, a start to mobilization!

7/18/09-Passed out for a nice long nap....

7/20/09- Hmmm, what should I do today?

Catch this Mommy!

Yeah!

No you do it Mommy!

Look at my toothy grin!

7/22/09- Here I am playing with Daddy... I have him in a choke hold...look how red his face is turning!

Jacob's 45th Week

This week Jacob got to go to the outdoor public pool for the first time, and got to meet my Godchildren, Jorja and Jack Rehm....we had a blast! Poor Jake got water dumped on his head in the lazy river....but took it like a champ with very few tears. Jacob is so interested in big people food, and would prefer to eat what is on your plate over the soft mushy baby food...he tried Pizza and egg whites this week. His hair is growing like wild now, and curls up in the back (just like Daddy's does when it gets a bit on the long side!)...so cute! Jacob loves to practice walking around while holding onto our fingers, but still no crawling!

7/10/09- Poolside with Jack and Jorja....
Jorja was such a big helper!
Hey Mom, You think I can get some babes with this do?

See ya!

7/12/09- Look at my curls!

7/12/09- Naked Butt!

7/14/09- Tiger is meeting up with me later to play 18...

Lets see....I believe it is best to swing from this angle...

Yep, I think everything is in tip top shape here....

Daddy taught me how to hold it just right...

and how to get the perfect swing!

7/15/09- Clowning around with pillows!
