Jacob's 26th week

This week held many new things for Jacob...He can sip juice from a sippy cup, hold it on his own, and has tried a whole banana through the teether-feeder (that was a messy one!). He is much better at sitting up on his own now, and continues to explore everything he can get his hands on. He still loves his thumb, and his favorite toys this week are his taggy elephant and books...he just can't get enough of those books!

2/23/09- here I am in the spare bed, helping mommy fold laundry

2/25/09- here I am eating a banana through my teether-feeder...yum!

2/28/09- My first time using a sippy cup...what a biggy boy I am!

Jacob's 25th Week

Jacob continues to be the light of our lives...he gets more and more expressive as the days pass, and wants to explore everything he can get his hands on. Dave and I took him to get his new carseat this week, as he is very close to being too big for his infant car seat. Jacob got his first cold this week, with stuffy nose, cough and sneezing. Bless his heart, he only had Dave and I up for one night, and only for about a half hour....what a good boy he is, even when not feeling well!

Jacob's 24th Week

Jacob is starting to sit up by himself a bit better, though he still needs a bit of support. We have now tried pears, applesauce, sweet potatoes, butternut squash and rice cereal...he isn't too keen on anything but the cereal, but we are working on him! Surprisingly, he seems to like the veggies better than the fruit. He continues to "talk" up a storm, and is such a happy baby! His favorite toy? BOOKS!

2/11/09- Jacob practicing sitting up on his own, grabbing none other, but a BOOK from his toy chest!

Yep...still looking at that book...

Finally lost my balance....

But kept ahold of that book all the way down!

2/12/09- Me and my buddy Cayla.... look how much bigger I am! Cayla weighs 8lbs here, so I am most likely pushing 18lbs!

I am such a lady's man....

2/12/09- Here I am in this weird thing mom insists I sit in...I am growing out of my infant car seat, so mom leaves it in the car now and I have to sit in this thing....

This week has been so tiring!

Jacob's 23rd Week

This week was a big week for us...lots of growing and lots of visits with family and friends! We had a play date with one of my former patients, Ellie Sheets, born at 1.5 lbs at 25 weeks gestation....she is now almost three years old and you would never know she was born so premature! She looks great, and we had a wonderful visit with her and her mother Amanda. Also, Jacob met his grandma and grandpa Metzler for the first time this week...they flew in from Minnesota for the weekend...we had a great visit. Jacob continues to work on talking, rolling over, and trying new foods...this week was sweet potatoes! Yum!
