The Picarelli Family Grows!

Jacob is 21 months old!

What a great month of May! Lots of great weather, and many new experiences for Jacob. Jacob went to another wedding in PA, and was a great traveler....no problems with the 4 hour car ride or the hotel... I think the adults had more difficulty than he did! We have taken several trips to the zoo, and Jacob is more interested in the animals than previous visits.... he loves to look at the monkeys and gorillas, and still enjoys the aquarium. His vocabulary is exploding! We can actually understand some of what he is saying! In addition, he has almost perfected eating with utensils, and engages in pretend play with his stuffed animals (he likes to try and feed them and give them sips of juice!). He is such a joy, and is in such a wonderful stage of discovery and development right now...Dave and I are having such fun with him! We are now entering our third trimester of the pregnancy, and everything has been going well. We had some follow-up ultrasounds that look good, and yes, she is still a GIRL!

Jacob is 20 months old!

This month we have been blessed with many things....we are now 24 weeks pregnant, and baby Sophia is growing perfectly. Our anatomy ultrasound went well, and she has all her pieces and parts! Jacob got an Easter basket from Nanny Picarelli, and had so much fun opening it, then using it for his very first Easter Egg Hunt! He got a trial run on Friday, then participated in a neighborhood egg hunt with the bigger neighborhood kids....he loved it! Jacob is trying so hard to talk more, and will carry on a conversation whether he is understood or not...he is growing more and more independent every day, wanting to do things all on his own. Jacob likes to point to my belly and say "baby?" and is eager to help us do things. I have been busy trying to get the nursery and Jacob's big boy room all put together, and can say that things are slowwwwwwly coming together! Hopefully, both will be done by the time Sophia comes!

Jacob is 19 months old!

We feel so blessed this month...everything is going well with the pregnancy, and Jacob is as charming as ever! The biggest news this month, is that Jacob is going to have a little........SISTER!!!!! We are shocked but excited that we will be welcoming Sophia Marie Picarelli to the family in just a few short months. We were able to get Jacob moved into his new big-boy room so that we can start getting the nursery ready. So many decisions to be made....pink or lavender? modern or vintage? Girls come with so many more decisions! Oh how fun it will be. Jacob points to my belly and says "baby," though I am sure he still has no grasp as to what is in store for him! Jacob is working on learning some colors, number, and letters of the alphabet. His favorites are blue, yellow, one and two, and "O,B, E, A." Now that it is getting a bit warmer outside, that is his favorite place to be! Rain or shine, as soon as he wakes, he wants to go outside! Dave is working as hard as ever, but seems excited to get back to working on the lawn and doing outside work...so relaxing!
