Welcome Sophia Marie Picarelli!

Sophia has arrived! After several weeks of scares about possible premature delivery due to early dilation, we ended up having to be induced! We woke early on August 10th, dropped Jake off at Grandma B's house and then off to Ohio State University Medical Center for our 6:00 am induction date. Our good friend Dr. Jospeh Werner placed my epidural around 8:30am, they broke my water at 10:45, and after just two short pushes, Sophia Marie Picarelli was born at 11:45 am! She weighed 7lbs, 2oz and was 20 inches long. By the time we left the hospital, she weighed a mere 6lbs 12 oz.... so tiny! We are overjoyed at the completion of our family, and so blessed to have Sophia finally here and healthy!

Jacob is 21 months old!

What a great month of May! Lots of great weather, and many new experiences for Jacob. Jacob went to another wedding in PA, and was a great traveler....no problems with the 4 hour car ride or the hotel... I think the adults had more difficulty than he did! We have taken several trips to the zoo, and Jacob is more interested in the animals than previous visits.... he loves to look at the monkeys and gorillas, and still enjoys the aquarium. His vocabulary is exploding! We can actually understand some of what he is saying! In addition, he has almost perfected eating with utensils, and engages in pretend play with his stuffed animals (he likes to try and feed them and give them sips of juice!). He is such a joy, and is in such a wonderful stage of discovery and development right now...Dave and I are having such fun with him! We are now entering our third trimester of the pregnancy, and everything has been going well. We had some follow-up ultrasounds that look good, and yes, she is still a GIRL!
