Jacob Turns 9 months old

Jacob turned 9 months old this week and has officially said the word "Da-Dat," though we are not sure that it actually means Daddy, since he seems to say it all the time. He does say it when looking at Dave though, so it is most likely the early stages of his first actual word. Jacob tried out new foods this week, and ate melon (watermelon and honeydew) and grapes wit his fingers...boy does he LOVE fruit! He also loves to eat cut up banana and Cheerios for breakfast, and had become extremely proficient at gobbling up any finger foods put on his plate! We have been practicing walking and crawling by putting Jacob in the crawl position..he hasn't yet figured out how to move, but will scoot backwards on occasion. He likes to stand at the ottoman and play with toys, but isn't cruising yet. He is such an angel... every moment is a blessing!

Jacob's 37th Week

Jacob is growing like a weed! He is practicing waving "bye-bye" and "hello", and is babbling up a storm. Still no definitive words yet, but he still likes to talk! He is such a good boy, and is admired by all who see him when we are out on the town. He is such a charmer! We had a playdate with pals Cameron and Isabella at the Metro Park this week, and unfortunately Mommy forgot the camera! Too bad, because Jacob got his first kiss from Isabella! It was so cute....
5/17/09- I fell asleep with my cookie in my hand....

I was so tired, Mommy just let me nap right in my highchair!

5/20/09- Me and Grandma B out for Breakfast

5/20/09-Outside playing with my toys

Attracting all the cute neighborhood girls!

Gee, all this attention for me?!?!

Mommy's first Mother's Day

Jacob helped me celebrate my first Mother's Day... and it was such great fun! We went to Grandma B and Pop's house for a wonderful dinner. Jacob seems like he has grown two inches and gained 5 lbs...he is getting so big! He is displaying much more independence, and will push you away when he has had enough kisses.... He finally cut his two middle upper teeth, so we have four upper teeth and two lower teeth! Jacob also has started identifying words, and will wiggle about when he hears the word "dance" or he hears music. He will also clap his hands together when he hears the word "patty-cake." He had been getting better at staying in the crawling position and will rock back and forth when in it. Most of all, he continues to be an absolute joy!

5/8/09- Here I am playing with a cup and spoon...what fun!

Here is the bouquet of flowers me and Daddy got for Mommy for Mother's Day...

5/13/09-I think I can reach it....

Got it!

Is that a cheerio?

5/14/09- Phew....another exhausting week of growing and playing!

Jacob's 35th Week

Jacob has officially cut his two upper teeth (not the middle ones, but the ones on either side), and now looks like he has fangs! He has has been working on taking steps with someone holding onto him, and standing up at the ottoman and his activity table. Jacob got his first riding "car" this week, and seems to like it a lot...it converts to a walker, though he isn't quite ready for that yet! His hair is growing longer and longer. No crawling yet, but Dave and I have been working hard on getting him in the position. Jacob had a swimming playdate with pal Isabella this week at the big pool, and was a bit more hesitant this time around, with big crocodile tears initially. He warmed up eventually and was able to splash around in the water. He acts more and more like a big boy each day!
5/2/09- Here I am playing with my vast amounts of toys...

I like the wheels best!

5/4/09- I am practicing standing up at my activity table

What a big boy!

OK, maybe not that serious!
