Jacob turns 8 months old

Jacob turned 8 months old this week! I can't believe how fast it has gone, and how much he has grown! He is still working on cutting his upper teeth, and continues to wake up at least once every night, but has been quick to fall back asleep. He is so curious about everything around him, and will peek into drawers when you are not looking! Still not crawling yet, but getting stronger by the day. He will get into a semi-crawling position from sitting, so should be any time now! He has learned to do "patty cake," though he will only do it for Grandma B.... We couldn't be more proud!

4/26/09- Big boy, still working on cutting my upper teeth....

And while mommy was unloading the dishwasher, I found something to occupy my time....

The bib and dishcloth drawer! I opened it all on my own, and discovered so many wonderful things!

Oh, how fun! Good thing there isn't anything sharp in this drawer!

4/27/09-Out to breakfast with Mommy and Grandma B...

Practicing my "patty cake" and clapping with Grandma B...she is the only one I will do this for!

What a biggy boy! So tall!

Jacob's 34th Week

Jacob had a fun filled week this week...he went to the park for the first time and then swimming in the indoor pool at the Worthington Rec. Center for the very first time! He loved the water, and we swam for 30mins straight. Jacob also had whole bananas and an avocado for the first time...yum! Jacob has started to wake up in the middle of the night again, and at one point was waking so frequently, I suspected a possible ear infection....we went to the Doctor's office the next day to find out no ear infection, just a baddddd case of teething! The doctor says Jacob is working on cutting four upper teeth, including his i-teeth! Poor baby, got Tylenol the rest of the day and lots of frozen teethers! He now weighs 19 lbs 4 oz and is about 28.5-29 inches long!

4/16/09- Today Mommy took me to the park and swimming in a big pool for the first time....

I got to swing on a big-boy swing for the first time...I had a blast, though you can't tell in this picture!

Here I am on a big boy rocking horse....

And while we waited for the pool to open, we found a chair that was just right for me!

I fit perfectly!

4/17/09- Mommy gave me whole banana for the first time today...

Look at how good I am getting with using my "pincher" fingers to pick up food!

Yum!

4/22/09- Who is that hooded guy?

Jacob's 33rd Week- Happy Easter!

Jacob had his first Easter this week, and got his very first Easter basket from the Easter Bunny! He has learned how to completely empty his toy basket and scatter toys all around the floor...such a strong boy! He is still working on learning to crawl, no scooting yet. His bottom two teeth are about half way in and sharp as ever! Jacob still loves to "talk" and shout out loud, and loves his bath time. What a wonderful little man we have been blessed with!

Jacob Turns 7 Months Old

This week was an exciting one for the Picarelli family...Dave returned home from a long two week business trip, Jake turned 7 months old, and he finally sprouted TWO TEETH! He was so good too, no fussy, no fight....one day there was gums, the next, two little teeth cut just above the surface on his lower gums! What a BIGGGGIE boy! They didn't seem to bother him at all, no changes in eating or sleeping, no swollen gums....boy are we blessed! Jacob went for his first all day visit at Grandma Brooks and Pop's house (while Mommy slept after working all night)...he had a blast! He had his first piano "lesson" there, and seems to be taking to music quite well. He also got his first drum/percussion set this week, and took to it right away...though he seems to like chewing on the drum mallet more than actually swinging it, I'm sure he will be pounding away at that drum (and everything else in sight) in no time at all.....
